Travel Tip Thursday: Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is a Caribbean country. It boasts of beautiful beaches, resorts and especially year-round golf courses. One thing you may not know is that you must have a Tourist Card in order to go there. It's a tax that is charged to visitors to the country. The Tourist Card allows for a 30 day stay in the Dominican Republic. Each Tourist Card is good for one year from the day you buy it, and can only be used by the person who buys it. The cost is $10.00 per person. A Tourist Card can be purchased at various locations, but it would make your travel plans go much smoother to buy the Tourist Card online at the Dominican Republic government website.
